Push Braces

Push braces are for people who have their movement constrained due to a disorder or a slight injury.  Push braces have mechanical support, a good fit, and adjustable compression in order for you to increase the physical ability of your joint.

For many of us, our mobility is taken for granted.  Other people understand that mobility is a luxury.  If you have an injury or a joint disorder, you understand that you have limitations.

Push braces provide functional solutions for people who have problems with their joints.  The braces are comfortable to wear and simple.

The push wrist brace will provide pressure around the joint of the wrist. It is used to support strained wrists, for slight rheumatoid complaints, slight strain complaints, and slight residual instability.

The push ankle brace helps with compression around the ankle, which improves the stability of the joint.  This is perfect for arthrosis without instability, slight capsule irritations, slight ankle instability, and slight distortions.

Push knee braces will provide pressure around the knee joint in order to improve the stability of the knee.  This brace works well for patallofemoral pain syndrome, functional instability without hamstring instability, arthrosis without hydrops, meniscus complaints, after miniscus operations, and capsular inflammation.

Push back braces help to reduce pain located in the lower area of the back with an even distribution of pressure.  This brace is excellent for chronic non-specific lower back complaints, sciatica, and for back straining activities as a preventative device.

Neck braces will provide support for the vertebral column using semi-rigid foam.  This neck push brace is ideal for acute neck injuries, follow-up treatment for whiplash, and minor cervical arthrosis.

Elbow push braces provide support and restricted movement of the elbow.  This brace works well for persistent complaints following dislocations or fractures, degenerative disorders of the elbow joint, and impingement in the case of overstretching.

Shoulder push braces will fix the upper and lower arm in position during the treatment of shoulder injuries.  This brace works well for postsurgica, acromioclavicular joint injuries, subcapital humerus fracture, and acute phase after subluxations.

This website will explore some of the injuries that may require the use of a push brace for support.  We will explore the following topics:

Ankle Injuries

Ankle Injuries include Achilles Tendinitis, broken ankle or foot, and a sprained ankle.

Achilles tendinitis occurs when your Achilles tendon is irritated or inflamed because a lot of stress has been put on the Achilles tendon and calf muscles.  It treated quickly, it usually will not last long, but if it is left untreated, it can cause lasting pain or need surgery in order to correct the damage.

A broken ankle or foot is fairly common.  These bones regularly withstand a pounding, and sometimes a crack or shattering of the bone may occur.  Treatment of a broken ankle or foot will depend upon the severity of the fracture and the location of the break.  Sometimes in severe cases, screws, rods, plates, or wires may need to be placed into the bone to allow it to fuse back together properly.

A sprained ankle occurs commonly when it is rolled, twisted, or turned awkwardly, causing the ligaments in the ankle to stretch or tear.  Treatment for this injury will depend on the severity, but wearing an ankle brace is usually recommended.

Back Injuries

Back injuries include a herniated disk and strains, sprains, and spasms.

A herniated disk makes it difficult for a person to complete everyday activities because of the shooting pain that may be caused by it.  When a disk is herniated, a small portion of the nucleus of the disk pushes through a tear in the outer coating called the annulus and into the spinal canal.  The result is an irritated nerve and weakness, pain, and numbness.

Sprains, strains, and spasms result from an injury to the back.  These injuries occur as a result of many reasons, including lifting improperly, poor posture, or being overweight.  The lower part of your back is especially at risk for muscle strains.

Shoulder Injuries

Shoulder injuries include brachial plexus injury, dislocated shoulder, and rotator cuff injury.

Brachial plexus injury occurs when the nerves that send signals from your spine to your shoulder, hand, and arm are torn or stretched.  This usually happens when your shoulder is pressed down in a forceful manner while your head is pushed in an upward direction from the shoulder.  These injuries can result from auto accidents, tumors, inflammation, and falls.  This injury sometimes occurs to babies who have this injury when they are born.

A dislocated shoulder occurs when the upper arm bone pops out of the socket of your shoulder.  This involves damage to the ligaments of the joint where the top of the shoulder blade meets with the end of the collarbone.  Medical attention is needed right away for this condition.  You will also be prone to more dislocations once you have experienced one.

A rotator cuff injury will include damage or irritation that occurs to your rotator cuff tendons or muscles.  The cause of this condition may be a result of lifting, falling, and repetitive arm activities.  Usually this condition will heal on its own due to self care measures as well as exercise therapy.

Sports Injury

Sports injuries include Achilles tendon rupture, chondromalacia patella, metatarsalgia, and tendinitis.

An Achilles tendon rupture is an injury that impacts the lower part of your leg.  It commonly occurs with people who play recreational sports.  When the Achilles tendon is overstretched, it can rupture or tear.  This can be a partial or complete rupture that sounds like a snap or a pop along with very intense pain.  In many cases, the best treatment option is surgery.

Chondromalacia patella is a condition in which there has been an injury, overuse, or other factors which have led to damage to the kneecap.  Treatments of ice and rest may assist with recovery, but often physical therapy and surgery may be necessary.  This condition has symptoms that feel like dull and achy pain in the lower portion of your knee, increased pain when you walk up or down stairs, pain in your knees when you kneel or squat, and a grating or grinding sensation in your knee.

Metatarsalgia is a condition that has pain and inflammation in the ball of your foot.  This can be caused by a lot of jumping and running.  It can also be developed due to wearing shoes that do not fit well.

Tendinitis is an inflammation or an irritation of a tendon and causes pain and tenderness outside of the joint.  It most commonly occurs with the shoulders, elbows, heels, and wrists.  Many names for this condition include pitcher's shoulder, jumper's knee, tennis elbow, swimmer's shoulder, and golfer's elbow.
